Tributes paid to Parmar at native place

Rich tributes were paid to the first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Dr YS Parmar, on his 107th birth anniversary in his native district on Sunday. The District Congress Committee paid tributes to Dr Parmar's at his statue on Mall Road and a tree plantation was also organised.


District chief Ajay Solanki, Himfed chairman Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh and former MLA Harsh Vardhan Chauhan were among those present on the occasion. SDM Jyoti Rana also attended the function organised by the Abide Youth Club.

Meanwhile, Youth Congress activists led by Jaideep Sharma distributed fruits in leprosy ward of the district hospital. District Congress chief Ajay Solanki said Dr Parmar was a visionary and dynamic leader who dedicated his entire life for making Himachal the most progressive and developed state of the country.

A function in senior secondary school, Bashan, in Sarhan block, the birth place of Dr Parmar was also organised, where ADM Manmohan Sharma paid rich tributes to founder of the state.
