Trouble-free win for Dhar and Bareilly

DHAR AND Bareilly comfortably won their respective matches in the Central Zone Inter-SAI Girls’ Hockey Tournament that began at SAI Centre Bishenkheri here today.

In the inaugural match Dhar outplayed Allahabad and registered a thumping 6-1 win. Dhar team took some time to take control over the match. For the first 17 minutes, the team looked changing their strategy and played safe.

In the 18th minute Reena opened the account by scoring a beautiful field goal. She augmented problems for the opponents by scoring second goal just after two minutes.

The match that was scoreless in the first quarter saw the third goal in the 21st minute when Vandana netted the ball in penalty stroke. First half ended with the scoreboard reading 3-0 in favour of Dhar.

After a fabulous stick skills in the first half, Reena came out with more aggression in the second half. With two goals in the second half she sounded the scoreboard.

Garima Singh scored the only goal for Allahabad in the 45th minute of the match. Kavita scored the last goal of the match for Dhar.

Second match between Lucknow and Bareilli was again a one sided affair. Aarti and Priyanka scored two and one goal respectively for the winners.
