Engineer Mustafa Asimi was taken hostage on August 28 from a construction site in Helmand province.
Taliban said it had executed Tuesday a Turkish hostage, a day after it said it was giving more time to his road-construction company to quit Afghanistan in return for his release, the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press agency reported.
Engineer Mustafa Asimi was taken hostage and a colleague was killed August 28 in a Taliban attack at a construction site in Helmand province.

Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf told the private Afghan news agency that a Taliban court ordered the execution because the Kolenat Company of Turkey showed no interest in saving his life
