The Jammu and Kashmir assembly was adjourned after Sham Sunder, a video journalist with local TV channel, suffered a heart attack in the House on Tuesday. He was rushed to the hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

Sham, a video journalist with TV channel Take-1, was covering the proceedings when he suddenly collapsed in the media gallery. NC leader Omar Abdullah and other legislators noticed it. Congress MLA Usman Majid said, “We can’t be insensitive by carrying out the proceedings of the house. It should be adjourned for some time.” The Speaker then adjourned the House for 10 minutes.

Deputy CM personally talked to the administration of the Government Medical College and directed them to provide every possible medical facility to the journalist. National Conference MLA Devender Rana also visited the hospital.

Sham Sunder was then shifted to the Super specialty hospital for speedy recovery.
