TVS FY 2005-06 sales up 19%
TVS Motor reports 19% growth in motorcycle sales for the financial year 2005-06.
TVS Motor on Saturday reported 19 per cent growth in motorcycle sales for the financial year 2005-06, as compared to the previous year.
Motorcycles sales in 2005-06 recorded 8,06,708 units compared to 6,79,099 units in the financial year 2004-05, the company said.
Total two wheeler sales witnessed 15 per cent growth by clocking 13,42,257 units compared to 11,67,016 units recorded in the previous financial year representing the highest volumes ever in its history both in motorcycles as well as in the overall two-wheeler segment, TVS added.
On the export front, the company registered a robust growth of 64 per cent in the financial year 2005-06, clocking 79,733 units compared 48,560 units in the corresponding period in the previous year.
In the month of March this year, the motorcycle sales recorded 83,896 units compared to 64,273 in March 2005 representing a growth of 31 per cent. The good demand for motorcycles spurred the sales of total two wheelers units in March to 1,28,857 units compared to 106,218 units recorded last year, a growth o f 21 per cent, it said.
