Twenty political workers, including 15 from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and five from the Samajwadi Party (SP), were arrested for indulging in violence in several pockets of Central Mumbai where a political rally was held by the UNPA.
"We have arrested 20 people from various pockets of Dadar for indulging in violence before the commencement of the rally. Some vehicles have been damaged and people were also beaten up," Joint Commissioner of police (law and order) K L Prasad told PTI here.
Maintaining "both sides" were involved in the violence, Prasad appealed people to come forward and lodge complaints so that police can take a strict action against the culprits.
