Two minor girls were crushed under a wall at Pooja Colony area of Loni town, Ghaziabad, on Sunday morning.

The incident happened when a speeding tractor-trolley hit the wall, which later collapsed on the two victims.

As per locals, Shikha and Gajri, both five-years-old, were playing near a cement godown when a speeding tractor coming from inside the godown lost balance and hit the wall near the gate. This led the 10-feet wall to fall over the two girls, who were playing near it.

Police said the minors died on the spot.

“We have seized the trolley and lodged an FIR against the driver, who has been absconding after the incident. He is known to locals and will be nabbed soon,” AK Yadav, circle officer (CO), said.

Police said that tractor-driver Praveen Kumar had been booked under section 304A of IPC at Loni police station.

The body of the two victims was later sent for post-mortem examination.
