Two arrested for attempt to rape in Jammu

Two people were on Friday arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a married woman after barging into her house in Noushera tehsil of Rajouri district, police said.

The incident took place in the morning when the woman's husband was not at home.

Sham Lal and Khem Raj forcefully entered the house of the woman, mother of two, in Danaka village, 120 kms from Jammu, and tried to rape her, they said.

The woman resisted their attempt and seeing two men trying to harm their mother the children raised an alarm following which the neighbours came to their rescue and caught the duo.

They were handed over to police and a case of attempt to rape has been registered against them.
