Two auspicious timings for Lakshmi Puja

THE CITY astrologers on Friday that there were two auspicious timings for worshipping  of Goddess Lakshmi on the occasion of Diwali.

Talking to HT, Acharya Amitabh said the period between 6.49 pm to 8.45 pm, was auspicious. He said since this period was ‘pradosh kaal’, it was considered the most auspicious for the common people as well as for the businessmen. The second auspicious period would start from 1.18 am and last till 3.33 am. This period was basically meant for tantrik pujan. Big industrial houses could also perform puja during this time.

He said, “Diwali being celebrated on Saturday this year will bring prosperity for the worshippers and those suffering due to affliction of Saturn (shani) will be relieved. Shani will bless them,” said Acharya Amitabh. 

According to astrologer Brajesh Mishra, the timings of puja are from 6.53 pm to 8.49 pm for common people and businessmen while for tantrik sadhna, the timings are from 1.21 am to 3.35 am.

“Usually the constellation called  Swati falls on Diwali but this time it is not so.

Those who are suffering due to Saturn should give til (sesame) to the poor.

They should apply body pack (ubtan) of sesame seeds and light the diyas with sesame oil. It is also advised to eat a dish made of sesame seeds. This procedure will be helpful for everybody and appease Goddess Lakshmi,” Mishra said.
