Rajouri A BSF official and sepoy were washed away in flash floods near LoC in Seeri area, district Rajouri, abut 100-km north-west of Jammu early Thursday morning.
According to reports, Army is trying to contact Pak Army across the border in seeking their help in retrieving the bodies.
Deputy commandant Tarun Gupta (intelligence cell of BSF) r/o Rajasthan along with his driver sepoy Udhay Singh were patrolling the area early morning near LoC at Seeri.
The vehicle was washed with sudden surge of water in Seeri nullah at about 3am.
On receiving information BSF and Army personnel were pressed into rescue operation.
Though the vehicle stuck in nullah was retrieved about 500-mt from LoC, the bodies couldn’t be found.
About 500 BSF and Army personnel are still carrying out rescue operation.
BSF has sought Army’s assistance in contacting its counter part across the border to retrieve the bodies, if they have crossed the border.
Seeri nullah flows down to Pok.
Last week Army had handed over a Pak jawan who had crossed over to Indian.
