Two CPI (M) party workers were shot dead by suspected Maoists at a village in Purulia, police said today.

Baneswar Singh Sardar, 55, and Korali Mahato, 50, were abducted from their houses by a group of 15-20 suspected
Maoists at Dulukadih village in Bandaon block last night.

The bodies were found this morning lying in a nearby jungle, police said.

On February 15, 24 jawans were killed when the Maoists overran their camp at Silda in West Midnapore after setting it
on fire.
