Two persons died when a train hit a tractor at an unmanned railway crossing in Saidabad on Friday.
The accident took place when drivers of two tractors were reportedly competing with each other to be the first to cross the railway crossing. As per eyewitnesses, the tractor got hit and was dragged to almost half a kilometer by the train.
The driver of the tractor Mangru Sonkar (30), resident of Sarai Yousufpur under Utranva police station, and one co-passenger identified as Kaushal Harijan (20) died on the spot and their bodies were greatly disfigured in the accident.
Railway’s junior engineer Amrendra Srivaastava and GRP officials reached the spot.
