Two DU students charred to death after accident in Sonepat

Two law students of Delhi University were charred to death after the car they were travelling in caught fire in a road accident on national highway at Pau Maniyari village near Kundli border of Sonepat district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Vikas of village Sehri and Monu of village Rajpur here. While the third victim identified as Parveen, a resident of Tharu village, who was at the wheel sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Police said that victims (in their early twenties) were returning to Sonepat from Delhi in a Honda city car today around 3.30am on Tuesday. Their car hit a parked truck, when they reached near Kundli area of Sonepat district.

Vikas and Monu were burnt alive as they could not come out of car. However, Parveen was taken out by passersby. Police were intimated and they were rushed to civil hospital for autopsy. Police said a case against an unidentified truck owner has been registered, who escaped taking advantage of darkness.
