Two held for Bakra murder: J&K Police

In a major breakthrough, Delhi police helped its counterpart in apprehending prime accused involved in sensational murder of underworld don Sanjay Gupta alias Bakra.
Addressing a press conference at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu here today, SSP Jammu, Mukesh Singh informed that "a police team from Jammu along with a team of Delhi police developed some leads and finally caught the prime accused Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan and Vishal Singh alias Vicky Thakur during a raid in New Delhi, on Wednesday morning."
On Saturday morning, the Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan and Vishal Thakur alias Vicky Thakur allegedly gunned down Bakra, when the latter entered the premises of the house of Dr R P Kudiyar in posh Trikuta Nagar locality in Jammu. After committing the crime the accused fled away from the spot on two-wheeler.
"Following the incident, the entire police team of Jammu police comprising of all the SHOs, SDPOs and officers from anti-Goonda Squad and SOG were given the task to put out all efforts to work out the case," SSP Mukesh Singh said adding that "telephone records were perused and within 24 hours, police team comprising of SP South Zahid Manhas, DySPs Mamta Sharma, Atul Goel, Bhimsen Tuti, inspectors Parshotam Mengi, SS Baloria and sub-inspector Maqsood Bhat was able to pin point the prime accused in the case namely Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan."
Giving more details, SSP Jammu Mukesh Singh said that "on further investigation based on weapon of offence and other evidence collected from the site where Bakra was murdered, links of Mohan and previous conduct of the accused it became clear that another associate of Mohan namely Vishal Singh alias Vicky Thakur was involved in the killing.
The police team also worked on the evidences based on vehicle involved and weapon of offence and identified the persons who had supplied the weapon of offence to the accused."
Informing how police team traced the accused, SSP Jammu said that "working on the details of telephone records, a police team on November 27th evening was dispatched to Jalandhar to trace out the accused.
The same team after collecting the evidences searched various parts of Jalandhar city with the help of Jalandhar police and were able to track the accused towards Delhi.
The police team that was following the telephone calls immediately proceeded to Delhi and were able to trace out the accused along with the help of Delhi police."
On a query, the senior police said that "after committing the crime, the accused reached Samba area, 45 kms from here and handed over the weapons of offence including the weapon of Bakra to one Sonu - an auto rickshaw driver.
A police party has been dispatched to Samba to apprehend Sonu and recover the weapons." He said the accused during questioning at New Delhi have also named one Pala of Fattu Choghan for his involvement in providing information about the movement of Bakra.
