Two hotels planned at Arambol beach in Goa will be part of the infrastructure being developed for the 2014 National Games scheduled to be held in the coastal state.
"The star and budget hotel proposed to be constructed at Arambol will be designated as 'Games Village' for the Goa National Games 2014," State Sports Minister Manohar Azgaonkar told the State Legislative Assembly on Monday.
Azgaonkar said there is a proposal for a star (deluxe) hotel and a budget hotel on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The facilities are expected to be utilised for accommodation of participants and officials during the National Games and would be leased to private players for next 30 years.
Goa's main Opposition BJP has opposed the creation of infrastructure under PPP mode, which is worth Rs 500 crore.
