Two HUJI terrorists surrender in Doda district

Two terrorists of Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami (HUJI) have surrendered before security forces in Doda district.

The two, identified as Ghulam Mohammad and Mohammad Iqbal, surrendered on Thursday night before the police and Army in the Chatroo area of Doda district, officials said on Friday.

These terrorists, after getting locally trained, were active in Doda for the past one year, they added.

Eighty-seven terrorists had surrendered in Doda in 1996, the highest in a year, officials said, adding that the second highest number of surrenders was 34 each in 1998 and 1999.

The total number of terrorists who surrendered in Doda in 2006 has touched 37, they said, adding that more of them would surrender soon.
