Police on Saturday nabbed two arms suppliers near Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. They recovered three country-made pistols that were smuggled from Munger in Bihar and bound for delivery to criminals in the NCR.

Harun Ansari and Harun Ranghad were nabbed by a team from the Indirapuram police station.

Initial police investigation revealed that the two men smuggled sophisticated pistols from Munger in Bihar and supplied the arms to criminals operating in the NCR region.

“They have been in operation for the last two years and are suspected to have supplied around two dozen such pistols in the NCR. We are investigating the case and trying to find out who received the weapons,” said Prashant Kumar, senior superintendent of police (SSP).

The two accused acquired weapons at anywhere between Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 15,000 each from Bihar and supplied them at double the cost in the NCR.

Police said that the two men had also been booked for supplying illegal weapons at the Lodhi Road police station in Delhi around two years back.
