A MAN was brutally murdered by two persons over an old enmity at Sai Baba trisection near the 11 Number Stop in the City on Saturday evening.
Police said the victim, Vinod Kirar, 25, ran a tea stall and lived in the nearby slum. The accused, Raju Sharma, 20, along with another person attacked Vinod with a sword.
The victim received deep wounds in the head and succumbed to injuries on the spot itself. The main accused Raju Sharma and Binu Sahu have been arrested and are being interrogated by the police. Police said Raju was the deceased’s neighbour.
After his arrest, Raju told police that when he was passing the area Vinod abused him. Angered by this, Raju rushed to his house, took out a sword and attacked him repeatedly. Binu Sahu too was involved in the incident.
Their enmity goes back a couple of years when after a row, Vinod had allegedly beaten up Raju’s father. The police had then registered cases against both sides. Vinod had three cases of molestation against him in the past.
The Habibganj police have registered a case of murder and are investigating the incident. Although the accused cited old enmity as the cause, police are looking into the cause of the brutal murder.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man who was hit by a tractor-trolley succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Mohar Singh, 40, a resident of Vallabh Nagar, was on his motor cycle along with his daughter when a tractor-trolley suddenly turned and hit the motorcycle near Khajuri.
Singh received critical injuries and later succumbed. The condition of his daughter also remains serious. The police are investigating the case.
