Two Manipuri ultras nabbed by Assam police

Two top ultras belonging to the United National Liberation Front of Manipur were today nabbed in Guwahati by the Assam police. The two militants, identified as self-styled 'colonel' Joy Singh and cadre Ashok Singh, were apprehended by the sleuths of the intelligence department and police from the Paltan Bazaar area, they said.

Two top ultras belonging to the United National Liberation Front of Manipur were, on Wednesday, nabbed in Guwahati by the Assam police. The two militants, identified as self-styled 'colonel' Joy Singh and cadre Ashok Singh, were apprehended by the sleuths of the intelligence department and police from the Paltan Bazaar area, they said.

The duo had entered the city from Nepal when they were taken into custody, police said, adding one laptop, three mobile phones, several digital cameras and Indian, Myanmar and Nepalese currencies were recovered from them. Twenty top Manipur-based ultras were nabbed in the city during last month.
