Two Maoists killed in police encounter in AP

Two Maoists were killed on Saturday evening in an encounter with police on the outskirts of Rekulapalli village, nearly 90 kms from Karimnagar, police said.

The police party was on a combing operation in Sarangapur mandal when they found some Maoists assembled at Rekulapalli outskirts, Karimnagar Superintendent of Police Devender Singh Chouhan said.

On seeing the police team, Maoists opened fire. Police retaliated the fire, which killed two ultras, he said.

Police also seized a sten gun and the outfit's literatures from the encounter site, Chouhan said adding that the combing operation is on.
