Two young men were arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old minor girl in the capital city of Panaji on Sunday.

The duo Jitendra Singh (19) and Dharmendra Gorak Shah (21), employed as a daily wage labourer in Panaji, were arrested by Panaji police for raping a school going girl, staying in city's slum.

Police stated that the rape was revealed after the school teacher complained to the victim's mother about her frequent absenteeism for the classes.

The girl broke down infront of her mother after consistent inquiry about her absenteeism in the school for three days.

The mother later filed a police complaint.

Police stated that the girl was consistently raped by the duo, originally hailing from Bihar by taking her to different isolated spots including Miramar beach near Panaji and cities like Ponda and suburbs of Marcela.
