Two minors detained for house break-in at Airoli

Two brothers (names withheld), both minors, were detained on Tuesday for allegedly stealing jewellery worth around Rs 80,000 from a neighbour’s house at Airoli.

Two brothers (names withheld), both minors, were detained on Tuesday for allegedly stealing jewellery worth around Rs 80,000 from a neighbour’s house at Airoli.

The police said the duo have seven cases registered against them and had escaped from a remand home.

The duo are aged 12 and 10 years respectively.

Police inspector (crime) Ramesh Ghadhule said, “When the complainant, Dagdu Kasha, returned home from work, he found the lock on the door to his house was broken and gold jewellery missing from his house.”

Gadhule said, “Kasha said his friends had seen the two boys loitering around the flat and suspected them to be involved.”

Police recovered 30g of jewellery and a wallet, which contained Rs 510 from the duo.
