Betting on Indian Premier League (IPL) matches continues in Faridabad.
Two days after a betting racket was busted, police on Tuesday night arrested two more people for running a similar syndicate. Some cash, mobile sets and a TV were recovered from them.
"On specific information, our police team raided a house in Jawahar colony where two youth were betting on the IPL matches last night," said Hemant Kumar, SHO Saran.
Kumar said the accused were identified as Ankush and Jeetu -- both residents of Jawahar Colony in Faridabad.
Two days ago, a major cricket betting racket was busted in Surajkund area. Three people were arrested and 100 mobile phones, TV set, earphones, 100 chargers etc recovered from them.
During the course of investigation, police found that the accused bookies had forged documents for securing mobile connections.
"We checked the numbers of the 100 mobile sets recovered a few days back," DCP NIT Praveen Mehta said, adding, "Almost all numbers had been managed on forged documents."
The people mentioned in the documents did not even know that the numbers had been allotted on their names, Mehta said. The kingpin of the racket, one Naresh of Haitha area in Delhi, is absconding.
