Two policemen have been suspended in connection with violence during block head election in which two persons were killed and three others injured, a senior officer said here.

Two policemen have been suspended in connection with violence during block head election in which two persons were killed and three others injured, a senior officer said here.

SHO of Atraulia police station R R Dwiwedi and sub-inspector Bhupendra Singh have been placed under suspension on charges of dereliction of duty, Superintendent of Police Bhagwan Swaroop said.

He said that the two policemen were indicted in a departmental inquiry.

Two SP supporters Mahendra Yadav and Ram Awadh were killed in a clash between two groups during polling for block head elections on Wednesday last.
