Two suspected dengue patients die in city

TWO PATIENTS suspected to be suffering from dengue died here on Thursday even as the inflow of patients complaining of dengue and malaria-like symptoms continued at the Hallet Hospital. While one of the patients died at the Hallet Hospital, the other breathed his last in the Derapur area.

Mahaveer (72) was admitted to the Hallet Hospital on Wednesday night. He had high fever and was suspected to be suffering from dengue.

According to Mahaveer’s kin, he was suffering from kidney complications but his condition had deteriorated after he complained of high fever. Mahaveer died at the Hallet Hospital today. Three suspected cases of dengue were also reported at the Hallet Hospital today, while blood samples of several others have been sent for further test.

In his report sent to superintendent-in-chief of the Hallet Hospital, Dr Punit Agrawal stated that one Munni Devi (45) was suffering from dengue, Brijlal Singh Yadav (34) from malaria and Prahlad Singh (34) from viral fever.  Meanwhile, two suspected dengue patients have been admitted at a nursing home in the Kakadeo area, while similar cases were reported from other private nursing homes and hospitals.
