Military personnel killed two alleged militants holed up in Shopian, south Kashmir, during a combing operation on Thursday morning.

Sources said two weapons were recovered from their possession.

The two militants have been identified as Naseer ah Pandit from Pulwama and Wasim ah Malla from Pahilpur, Shopian.

Pandit joined militancy about a year back and was a former PSO who used to guard the residence of a former minister in Mufti Sayeeds cabinet. He reportedly took his service weapon along when he joined.
