The two suspected swine flu cases in Pune have tested negative for the H1N1 virus, official sources at the Government Sassoon hospital said on Tuesday.

Two young males of Indian nationality who returned to the city from the US and Spain had been quarantined by the medical authorities on Monday after they complained of sore throat and symptoms resembling the dreaded flu.

Although the National Institute of Virology (NIV) has yet to formally submit its report on the tested blood samples of the two patients kept in isolation ward at municipal Naidu hospital, the doctors attending on them confirmed that Swine flue had been ruled out and they could be discharged soon following improvement in their condition.
