Troops killed two Pakistani terrorists, apprehended many and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir since Sunday evening, an official spokesman said on Monday.
A military spokesman said troops of 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), on a specific information, launched an operation in Chatusa area of Baramulla district at 9.45 am on Monday.
The spokesman said on being challenged, terrorists opened fire on the troops which was effectively retaliated.
In the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were killed, he added.
The slain ultras were identified as Abu Vikas and Abu Hyder of Pakistan, the spokesman said.
The official spokesman said security forces apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist at Mohanpora Panzalpora in Kulgam area of Anantnag district on Monday. One Univarsal Machine Gun, two Anti-tank shells and one RPG round were seized from him.
Security forces also apprehended a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist at Hyderbeigh Pattan in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Sunday evening and seized some pistol rounds from his possession, the official spokesman said.
