Two top LET militants shot dead

Two self-styled Lashker-e-Toiba commanders were killed in a fierce gunbattle with security forces in Doda district.

Two self-styled Lashker-e-Toiba commanders were killed in a fierce gunbattle with security forces in Doda district, official sources said on Wedensday.

On specific information, police and security forces launched cordon and search operation in Pullaie area of Gandoh tehsil last night.

A gunbattle soon broke out between militants and security forces in which two top commanders of LET were killed, they said, adding they have been identified as Pakistani commander Abu Saifullah alais Abdu Raja, and area commander Zulikar alais Farhat Hussain alias Mochi.

Mochi was brother of Imtiaz Husain code Abu Turab, self-styled district commander of LET, who was killed by police in March this year.

Two ak rifles, three magazines, 110 rounds and one grenade was recovered from them.

Saifullah was involved in dozens of attacks on security forces in Doda district. They were on way to receive a group of militants of Al-Meran, a shadowy outfit of LET, which had recently infiltrated into the country.
