Faced with the prospect of arrest, Bollywood singer Udit Narayan had prolonged talks with Ranjana Jha amid indications of a reconciliation.
Jha, who claims to be the singer's first wife claimed that the differences had been sorted out and her husband had agreed to give her the rightful place of a wife.
"It was a family matter and our differences have been sorted out. He has agreed to keep me as wife along with Deepa (with whom Narayan is staying)," Jha told reporters at an impromptu press conference at the Patna airport where she held negotiations with the singer, who had flown in this afternoon.
The talks between the duo lasted for nearly three-and-a-half-hours after which Jha said the matter has been settled amicably and that Narayan would appear before the Bihar Women's Commission on July four.
"I have not settled for any monetary allowance from the singer. He has agreed to keep me with him," she said in reply to a question.
The singer himself, however, avoided the media and caught a 8 pm flight for Kolkata instead of the 9.15 pm flight to Delhi as scheduled earlier.
Jha had created a flutter at the posh Maurya Hotel on April 21 last by squatting in front of the suite occupied by the singer demanding restoration of her conjugal rights.
Bihar Women's Commission Chairperson Manju Prakash had last Wednesday given 48 hours to Narayan for an 'out of court settlement and meaningful reconciliation' with Jha failing which she had threatened to issue a warrant of arrest against him.
