BHARATIYA JANSHAKTI president Uma Bharati said here on Saturday that she saved Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s life by preventing his chopper from being set afire at Jaitpura village in the Bada Malehra constituency on Friday.
She alleged that ‘hired elements by the BJP’ conspired to set her chopper ablaze at Jaitpur but it was foiled as she reached there late and the villagers reached the spot on time.
She added the agitated villagers tried to set afire Chouhan’s chopper but her presence over there saved the CM’s life and his chopper from being set afire. But ironically she was being blamed now for creating disturbances at the CM’s meeting.
She said in a statement that the district administration cancelled the permission granted for her election meeting at 0300 hrs at night but did not intimate her about it. The administration even did not allow her to lodge an FIR, she said.
She said the canard spread against her was that she created disturbances at the CM meeting but the fact remained that she stayed over there to save chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s life (from agitated villagers). But the BJP wanted to win Bada Malehra election at the cost of her life, the former chief minister said.
She said the district administration’s report submitted to the government was baseless as the administration was working under the pressure of the government. She was in favour of a peaceful poll but the BJP made the election its prestige issue and intended to resort to violent means to win the election, Uma Bharti said.
