india Updated: Dec 26, 2006 01:59 IST

BHARATIYA JANSHAKTI leader Uma Bharti on Monday visited the samadhi of Sant Hirdaram who died recently. Bharti offered floral tributes at the samadhi.

She later went inside the meditation room of the Sant and offered floral tributes there also. Speaking to the devotees present there, she said that the ‘kutiya’ would become a centre of pilgrimage. Therefore, people should take special care to keep it clean.

She said that following the footsteps of the Sant, people should take pledge to give whatever they have to others. The Swami’s ‘sadhana’ had benefited others. It was the responsibility of the society to speed up the works started by the late Sant in the fields of education etc, she stressed.

Present on the occasion were the late Sant’s disciple Siddha Bhau and Hanuman Bhau, and BJ State general secretary Bhagwandas Sabnani.

Vedant Sant Lalsai also visited the samadhi and offered flowers. Sant Lalsai said though he met Sant Hirdaram only once, he held him close to his heart ever since. He said he would cooperate with the works started by Sant Hirdaram’s followers. Siddha Bhau appealed people to help in carrying forwards the works started by Sant Hirdaram.
