UP mourns Bismillah's death

Flags will be flown at half mast at all government offices to pay homage to Bismillah Khan, said the UP govt.

Uttar Pradesh government on Monday declared a one-day mourning on the death of shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan and ordered closure of all government schools, colleges and offices, officials said in Lucknow.

Flags will be flown at half mast at all government offices, they said adding that Governor TV Rajeshwar and Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will be visiting Varanasi to pay homage to the departed icon.

In a condolence message both termed Khan's death as a great loss to the country.
