A U.P.Roadways city bus on Monday morning mowed down a motorcyclist to death, while one person was critically injured in Greater Noida.
“Around 7-15 a.m., a city bus, going towards Sector-1 hit the motorcyclist near Rajni Gandha Crossing. Two persons on the bike fell on the road. The speeding bus ran over one of them, killing him on the spot. The other injured was rushed to the District Hospital by the police,” said an eyewitness.
“The deceased was identified as Keshav Jha (22), a resident of Madhubani, Bihar. He was working as a security guard with a security agency and doing part-time job at a courier agency. The injured man was identified as Umesh Kumar. He was also working with courier company. Both were going towards Sector-19 when the accident took place. The bus driver Ashok Kumar has been arrested,” said Sub Inspector S.P.Singh.
“The condition of Umesh is stated to be critical but stable. He has suffered fractures on hands and legs,” said Singh.
In another incident in Greater Noida, a truck dashed into a motorcycle near Atta Bheelpur village in Dankore area today.
