A student of Class 12 at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lucknow was allegedly raped by her class teacher and was sexually exploited for almost two months, police said.

Lucknow Police registered an FIR on Sunday night when the girl's father along with school principal Arvind Gaur approached the Gomti Nagar police station.

Station officer SM Abbas said the teacher, 47-year-old RC Tiwari, and his wife Anita Tiwari had been arrested. Abbas said two people - Dr Vijay Shree and Dr Ashaqa Siddiqui - who aborted the girl's foetus and helped the couple in concealing the crime had also been arrested in the matter.

The girl's father, who is a driver in state estate department, told the police that his daughter was raped by Tiwari in December when she went to his official residence on the college campus to take extra lessons for board examinations.

He said the teacher gave the girl a sedative-laced drink and raped her after she fainted. He said the teacher continued to sexually exploit her by threatening her with dire consequences.

Tiwari then took the girl to a private hospital on IIM road on January 10 after she conceived and forced her to undergo an abortion with the help of the two doctors, the father said.

The girl told her family about the incident only after she suffered health complications from the abortion procedure.

The SO said the family informed the college authorities on January 11 but did not give a written complaint in the matter, as they were concerned about social humiliation and the girl's health.

Abbas said the girl had been sent for medical examination and all the accused were sent to jail after producing them before a court.

He said the FIR was lodged under sections 376 (C) for rape on the college premises, 506 for criminal intimidation, 313 for causing miscarriage under the Indian Penal Code and a section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
