It was a Sholay moment for Savitri Devi, a resident of Agra's Akola block. On Tuesday, she climbed a water tank -- remember Veeru in Ramesh Sippy's blockbuster? -- to protest against the alleged apathy on the part of the local administration.

In her unique protest, the woman in her early 40s highlighted the plight of villagers from Kale Ka Nagla and brought to fore long-neglected issues such as water logging and poor road conditions in the area.

Savitri finally came down two hours later - but not after receiving assurances from administrative and police officials, and taking her demonstration to a new height (pun intended).

Such was her steadfastness that SP city Sameer Saurabh and ADM finance and revenue Raj Kumar had to reach the spot and pacify her.
