UTTAR PRADESH Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh (UPMSS) (Thakurai Faction) staged a massive dharna at the office of District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) on Wednesday under the leadership of state secretary and district president Raghuraj Singh.
Later a 52-point charter of demands was handed over to DIOS Mahendra Kumar Singh for its onward transmission to the chief minister.
Addressing the crowd, Raghuraj Singh said that the DIOS of this district is ignoring the holiday decision. The committee has unilaterally scrapped the list of holidays. Now, schools of other districts of the state were availing 52 days annual holidays while Allahabad’s holidays have been reduced to about 40 days.
Singh highly condemned the lathi charge on Shiksha Mitras in Lucknow. State executive body member and spokesman Syed Azadar Husain condemned the educational authorities using teachers’ monthly salary as tools. ‘We are not evading from teaching but while checking impartiality must be maintained’, he maintained.
District secretary Mohurrum Ali conducted the proceedings.
