Vajpayee grounds plans of BJP visit to Nithari
Accusing the government of failing at the law and order front, the party vociferously demanded a CBI probe into the killings.
The plans of top BJP leaders to visit Nithari, the site of the serial murders of children, appeared to have been grounded by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's remarks on Saturday.
"We have no competition with her (Sonia Gandhi)," he said when asked why no senior BJP leader had so far driven down to the Uttar Pradesh village, while the Congress chief herself visited the place.
BJP sources say that at least one of the leaders from the party's top brass planned to visit Nithari.
Accusing the government of failing at the law and order front, the party had vociferously demanded a CBI probe into the mass killings.
Also, it seeks imposition of the president's rule in Uttar Pradesh ahead of Assembly elections there.
