FORMER PRIME minister A.B. Vajpayee is working on a book that will give his side of the story on key events, including the failed Agra summit and the Pokhran tests, which took place during his tenure.
The "short volume" in Hindi is likely to be released in October with its English translation, sources close to the BJP leader said. The book would cover all important events and major projects of the NDA government at that time.
"Vajpayee would seek to explain what prompted those decisions,” a source said. Vajpayee also shared his book plans with noted writer and India's candidate for the post of UN secretary-general, Shashi Tharoor, when the latter called on him on Wednesday.
