Actress Vanessa Hudgens is set to receive a top film honour for her constantly impressive on screen performance. The 21-year-old star will be given the coveted ShoWest Female Star of Tomorrow award at the annual Cinema Owners’ Convention in Las Vegas next month, reports the Daily Star.
Hudgens delivered stirring performances in the High School Musical franchise, and has maintained the good going in her recent roles, including the forthcoming flick Beastly. Her Beastly co-star, Alex Pettyfer, has been selected for the Male Star of Tomorrow, with ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine calling the duo “outstanding young talents”.
Katherine Heigl will be presented with the Female Star of the Year award at the annual ceremony.
The award will see Hudgens and Pettyfer joining the league of other Star of Tomorrow recipients, which includes the likes of actors Chris Pine, Shia LaBeouf, Hayden Christensen, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp.
