Varun Gandhi under threat from Chhota Shakeel, shifted to Etah jail

In a late night development on Tuesday, official sources confirmed that BJP candidate Varun Gandhi, lodged in the district jail after being remanded in judicial custody over hate speech during election campaign, has been shifted to Etah district jail in Uttar Pradesh. Though there was no official word on why the jail authorities moved the saffron leader to another jail, there are reports that Chhota Shakeel plotted to assassinate him. See special

As per the reports, the Intelligence sources have claimed to intercept orders by Chota Shakeel for the elimination of the BJP candidate from Pilibhit, on the 28th of March, the day he was to surrender at the Pilibhit court.

Shakeel reportedly sent his key shooter Rashid Malbari for this special assignment.

Gandhi, against whom the Uttar Pradesh government invoked NSA over his controversial remark in Pilibhit, was shifted to Etah district jail.

However, there was no official word on why the jail authorities moved the saffron leader to another jail.
