BRILLIANT ALL-ROUND display by Veerendra Yadav and classic batting by Bhushan Verma helped Indore Colts beat hosts YC Force by huge margin of 118 runs in the YC-J S Anand Adroit Trophy Twenty20 cricket tournament organised by Yeshwant Club on Thursday.
Winning the toss, Indore Colts opted to bat. The batsmen made merry of YC Force bowlers. In the allotted 20 overs, they piled up 227 losing just three wickets.
Veerendra Yadav batted brilliantly and punished all loose balls. He whacked the ball to the fence at regular intervals and scored 65 runs.
Bhushan Verma showed his class and he too scored a quickfire 78 while Gaurav Lashkari scored a useful 45. The team finished at 227/3. Chayan Jkhetia took two wickets for YC Force.
Chasing a huge score of 228, YC Force batsmen failed to read the accurate bowling of Veerendra Yadav and were walking back to dressing room at regular intervals.
Phiroze Kureshi was the only batsman to cross 20 plus. He was dismissed for 24. The rest of the batsmen failed to rise to the occasion and without giving any fight they just surrendered and lost the match by 118 runs.
After brilliant batting, Veerendra Yadav showed his class in bowling and scalped four wickets. He got good support from Ravi Tomar who took three wickets. The host team failed in all the departments as their bowlers failed to control the run flow by not bowling to line and length.
