Veterinary University teachers suspend stir

The teachers of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LLRUVAS) suspended their ongoing stir till September 4, after Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and vice-chancellor Maj Gen (retd) Shri Kant assured them of resolving their problems.

The office-bearers of the university met the chief minister at aerodrome here on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum for early implementation of service conditions and career advancement scheme which has already been implemented in other universities of the state. They have also demanded for another option to change contributory provident fund to pension scheme.

The chief minister discussed the matter with the vice chancellor of the university and conveyed that he would ask the chief secretary to hold a meeting for resolving the issues.

The vice chancellor called the office-bearers of the association and discussed the developments on these issues. The general body of the university after discussing all developments decided to suspend the ongoing protest till September 4.
