Vice President, PM greet nation on Eid-ul-Fitr

Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday greeted citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and wished the festival would usher in peace and happiness for all.
Sehkhawat said in a message: "The spirit of generosity and charity associated with this festival helps usher in a humane and compassionate society in this strife-torn world."
"May the noble ideals of the festival fill our lives with peace, happiness and social harmony and unite us all in a common brotherhood of humanity," he said.
In his message, the prime minister said the festival marked the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan and brought to the fore the noble instincts in people.
"Eid-ul-Fitr evokes feelings of brotherhood, compassion and sharing in all and strengthens the pluralistic bonds of our composite society," he said.
"May Eid-ul-Fitr usher in peace, prosperity and happiness for all," the prime minister said.
