BJP leader and Satna district panchayat president Gagnendra Singh and his supporters allegedly thrashed five employees working at a major private vehicle manufacturing company's shop at Satna in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday after they refused to give him spare parts of a vehicle before he cleared his previous dues.

However, Gagnendra Singh, who is the son of former MLA Rampratap Singh and his five supporters, purportedly started thrashing employees of the shop and were caught on camera during the act. Gagnendra Singh and his supporters were shown on local TV channels thrashing employees of the shop, throughout the day on Saturday.

The visuals showed Singh bashing up employees including the branch manager. After the video went viral, police took cognizance of the matter but the employees, allegedly beaten up by the BJP leader and his supporters, are said to have gone into hiding. No case has been registered in the matter so far.

Satna superintendent of police (SP) Irshad Wali said, "After watching the video, a police team had gone to the company's office to register the statements of employees but we didn't find any of the persons allegedly beaten up by Singh in the office. In the last couple of hours, nobody has come forward to lodge a complaint. Police are trying to find the victims because without registering their statement, we can't take any action."

According to sources, Singh had sent a man to the company's motor spare parts shop in Bharothnagar Colony to get some material on credit but the personnel refused to oblige and asked the man to ask Singh to clear the previous dues.

Infuriated by the denial, Singh, along with his men, allegedly stormed into the shop and thrashed the branch manager and other staffers.

The BJP leader could not be contacted for comments despite repeated attempts.
