Looking every bit elegant, actor Vidya Balan, who is part of the nine-member Feature Film Jury at the ongoing 66th Cannes Film Festival, attended a photocall on the eve of the on event on Tuesday.
Dressed in a maroon-black lehenga by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the 35-year-old carried the look gracefully. With her hair tied back in a neat bun, Vidya completed her look with a pair of earrings and a watch. “Going to Cannes is a big honour. Is the hue and cry in India justified? One of our own will be at a celebrated festival, so it’s a moment of pride. This means that our films are getting a wider audience. I got so many messages when people found out (about my selection at Cannes); it felt like a film of mine had released,” said the actor just before leaving for the fest.
When asked who she is most excited to meet at the festival, Balan said, “George Clooney. Only, I’ll be meeting him too late in life. But at least I’ll meet him (laughs) and yes, Siddharth (Roy Kapur, husband) knows this.” And will her husband join her at the festival? “He has prior commitments, so he’s going to try his best (to be there) towards the end, most likely.”
