The husband of a village pradhan in Mathua district filed a complaint on Saturday alleging he was insulted by BJP MP Hema Malini.
“I was scolded and insulted by MP Hema Malini who came to Bansibat,” Bhagwan Singh, the husband of Mant Mula village pradhan Bhagwati Devi, alleged, adding, she even questioned how his wife was elected.
A complaint was submitted to SHO Mant by Singh, deputy superintendent of police Sanjai Kumar said, adding, it has not been registered as the police are looking into the matter.
Singh claimed he apprised Hema Malini about felling of trees in the area on the occasion of Tehsil Diwas but in response she started “insulting” him.
“I told her that I had lodged a complaint about felling of the trees in the area but she started scolding and insulting me,” Singh claimed.
Meanwhile, residents of the area burnt an effigy of Hema Malini and shouted slogans against her.
Singh was hospitalised after a bout of depression and doctors said his condition is stable.
No comments were available from Hema Malini’s side despite several phone calls made to her.
