A day after a 21-year old man shot dead a 16-year-old girl and later shot himself dead at Madhaiya area of Ghaziabad under Dhaulana police station on Saturday, his family members have accused the girl’s family members for allegedly murdering the man and the girl for saving their ‘honour’.

According to police, Ishtiyak Ali shot dead his cousin and later shot himself dead using a .315 calibre country-made weapon on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, Ali’s family members approached Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubir Lal and lodged a complaint that the girl’s father and her two uncles had shot Ali and later murdered their daughter over her alleged love-affair with the man.

Ali previously worked at a welding-unit operated by girl’s father Akhtar Ali and reportedly fell in love with the girl.

“We had approached the girl’s family several times to agree to the marriage but each time they declined saying that both were brother-sister in relation. On Saturday, one of their relatives called on Ali from Simbhawli and when he reached the village, he was shot dead by girl’s father and her two uncles. The trio later shot dead their daughter at their house,” said Mushtak Khan, Ali’s father.

Khan also alleged that several policemen conspired with the girl’s family members and reported the incident in a different manner.

After receiving the complaint from the Ali’s family members, SSP Raghubir Lal ordered the Dhaulana Station Officer to register an FIR and also to initiate investigation into the incident.
