The inhabitants of four villages - Panjah, Bagiya, Tiradi and Jahladi - in remote Bhadol panchayat of Sangrah block, the home segment of chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) Vinay Kumar, have been facing power outage for over past two weeks.

The power supply to the four villages was affected, as the only transformer in the area got damaged two weeks back, and despite several requests from the villagers the electricity board failed to repair it.

Local residents Jagat Singh, Sunder Sharma and Prithvi said the electricity board officials were reluctant to repair the transformer as a result of which the students were affected mostly.

The villagers alleged that most of the electricity board employees remained absent from their duty, as the villages were in remote area of the state.

Meanwhile, the CPS said that he had not been apprised with the situation so far, adding that the problem would be resolved soon.

However, a junior engineer with the electricity board Naresh Kushal said the transformer, which was installed by a private company, was still in the warranty period.

A new transformer was yet to come from Faridabad, said Kushal, adding that the power supply would be restored temporarily in a day or two from another transformer installed at Beyong village.
