Jammu and Kashmir Pardesh Congress Committee chief Prof Saifuddin Soz has asked the party leaders, including ministers and legislators to identify themselves with the problems of people, especially in the backward and remote areas, and take up their developmental and other needs with the quarter concerned in the government.
Addressing a series of meetings at Lati-Duna, Chenani and other places, while concluding his two-day tour of Udhampur district, Prof Soz assured the gathering and the party workers that the developmental needs and aspiration of the far-flung and under-developed areas of the state should get priority attention of the government.
He said several areas which lacked basic amenities of life like proper road connectivity, better health care, facilities of higher education, electricity and drinking water facilities as a result the inhabitants have feeling of neglect and discrimination. This needs to be properly addressed by giving priority consideration to the genuine demands and needs of the areas like several parts of Ramnagar and Chenani of Udhampur district, said Soz.
The PCC chief said the Congress party would keep the priority of development of remote and far-flung areas on top of its agenda and appeal to people to further strengthen the Congress, as it was going to emerge as number one party in the state in order to ensure equitable and balanced development on all parts of the state.
